Keeping Hope Alive! - Upcoming Events

At a recent fall in service the topic revolved around "tough kids".  At a national school conference last summer in Denver a seminar topic revolved around "engaging students".  Both of the conferences mentioned hope.  As I reflect on the similarities, it becomes clear to me that when we instill hope with whatever we do there is potential for something amazing to happen.  Yesterday morning Shirley Ferguson left me a note on my desk that read, "I believe that ordinary people under ordinary circumstances can do extraordinary things."  she shared that John McCain had written these words in one of his books from his time in a POW camp.  It becomes clear to me that in whatever we do and whatever circumstances come our way, it is ever so important to keep hope alive.  And so it is with education, our schools are a great means to provide hope for our students and providing the means for great things to happen.

Here are just a few of the upcoming events that may help keep hope alive.

Career and College fair in Devils Lake for all our juniors - September 19.

ASVAB for all juniors in Lakota High School starting at 8:30 a.m. - September 27.
